The annual Abridge Firework Display & Bonfire Night was held on Sunday 2 November 2025.
This amazing event, which started in 2012, is organised and run by a group of local people. Since then over £124,450 has been given to various local charities, including St Clare Hospice, Chigwell Riding Trust For Special Needs, local schools, the local church (for the restoration of an ancient monument) and the Abridge Christmas Lighting Fund to name but a few, along with various donations to support local people who have run in the London Marathon for various causes. This year, gates opened at 4pm. The event was attended by approximately 3,500 people. We had a funfair, catering for all age groups from toddlers to adults - including a big wheel! We had multiple food stalls, selling Chinese, Indian, Mexican, German sausages, pizza, ice cream, Dutch pancakes, burgers and hot dogs. There was also a licensed bar with beer and wine. The local PTA had a stall selling glow sticks and various other items to raise money for the school. Free car parking for over 3,000 cars was provided in fields close to the event. These fields were kindly loaned to us for the night by local landowners. A huge bonfire was lit, and then the grand firework display, lasting for 15 minutes, took place at 7:30pm. We're still totting up the numbers, but it's looking like we raised over £10,000 - with all proceeds going to local causes. A huge thank you to everyone that took part and made this event such a huge success. Comments are closed.
